Hi everyone,

I have drafted up an apology letter, which I was asked to do by my employer. It seems that the internet gets some people into trouble (an no, I wasn't surfing the 'net at work!). What happened is, my employer started using a new software and it has a lot of bugs in it. So to vent my frustration, I decided to start a facebook group. This group featured the name of the product in the title, and was basically there to tell the world that the software was annoying and frustrating. I also posted the logo of said product on the page, which has apparently upset the company that makes the software. It was only ever joined by 4 of my co-workers, and we all forgot it even existed until last week! I have shut the page down and it is gone forever (or so it seems)

I can understand why they are offended, and I also understand why I have been asked to write this letter to apologise, I just don't really know how to say it!

Can someone please review the following letter and let me know if there is any way I can make it sound a little better? Thank you so much!

To the management and staff of x,

StartFragment>

I wish to apologise for offending anyone with the groupcreated on the Internet page, Facebook.

It was created as an inside joke between friends, andwas never intended to offend anyone. It has now been removed.

I would also like to bring to your attention the fact that the groupwas never, in any way, condoned by any of the other staff or management of [my employer]. When it was brought to the attention of management, theyimmediately took action to ensure it was shut down.

This group was not joined by anyone other than the immediategroup of friends who were aware of its’ existence.  It was never advertised or promoted in any way by [my employer].

Sincerely,

Me.

Please let me know what you think!
