Hello.  My name is David and I am a member of 7hmgaming.com.  Recently we held our seventh annual LAN party in White Plains, NY and had one sponsor pull through.  I am not too sure how the head teasuring advisor writes his sponsorship letters, but I was wondering how to write a sponsorship letter to a business and have them sponsor our LAN Parties with products?

I know this is my first time posting a question on these boards, but I hope someone can point me in the right direction.  Thanks a lot! Smile [:)]

Pure salesmanship, David.  Tell them who you are, what your group does, and why their sponsorship would be good business for them.  Be specific-- tell them what you want to accomplish and how their products can contribute to that end.  Make clear how your group intends to publicize the sponsor's contribution.

Write up a draft letter and post it here, and we'll work on it.

Dear Sir or Madam:
I am currently the owner of a gaming community for the New York area (http://7hmgaming.com). I assumed ownership in November 2004. At that time, the site was originally called http://theheavymachince.com. During the months of November 2004 – January 2005, I worked on redesigning the site, obtaining a new name and focused on keeping the identity of the site as well as a plan to attract new visitors. On January 11, 2005, the new site was launched. The site is focused on aspects of the gaming and computing world such as (FILL IN INFO HERE). As membership has grown, I have noticed an increase of members and non-members posting questions regarding where they could obtain specific hardware parts for their computers. I and the other moderators of the site have always recommended your company as the company of choice for such parts. After much deliberation, I concluded that both our companies could benefit from an advertising partnership I have attached an S.W.O.T. analysis of the company and current 2005 statistics regarding the site.

Hits Unique Visitors Hits Unique Visitors
January 2005 394,959 1,920 Projected March 2005 1,029,453 4,030
February 2005 935,866 3,664 Projected April 2005 1,132,398 4,433
March 2005 (1st – 4th) 534,634 2,493 Projected May 2005 1,302,257 5,098
* Projected numbers based on a 10% increase month over month for March 2005 & April 2005 and a 15% increase for May 2005

Oh, by the way, the S.W.O.T. part is just a fancy acronym for the statistics of the website (as referred to below) and the (FILL IN INFO HERE) is for the events that we have had.  For that part, you could mention the LAN party we had, which was dubbed "7hmGaming LAN 7.0", held at the Mariott Hotel in White Plains, NY on June 25-26.  The event totaled up to having 30 people attend the event and everybody hailed our LAN Party as the best LAN ever.

If you need anything else please let me know. Smile [:)]

Hello, David.  Let me preface this my telling you that I have no idea what your business is, so I am unfamiliar with much of the terminology.  That off my chest, I think your letter is pretty much there; my main complaint would be format, which should be clearer.  I have done so below (by creating clear paragraphs), and included a few changes (for instance, ' has occurred to me' is more politic than 'I have concluded').  You don't need the addressee's email addresses in the address.  One note is in brackets:

Thank you for your consideration of this possibility for mutual advantage. I look foward to...

I am not sure if this is the correct way to post a letter of help. I would like to help writing a letter to the community to see if I can get finianical support to offset the cost of participating.

I am not sure how to start off the letter. It is for support for my sons go karts.  I am not sure if I should ask for a certain dollar amount and base it on a ranking level; top level gets the most advertisements but they pay the most.   I would really like a basic letter that I can modify to fit my needs. I have been looking around but I can not find any letters. Is there any that you know of that I can look at and will sort of work with what i need?. any help will be greatly appreciated. Please email me at fichtank69@peoplepc.com

Hello,

I too need assistance in writing a sponsorship letter. I am just a member of the team but I'm supposed to send out letters to companies asking them to donate us mousepads, headsets, keyboards, mics, etc for our gaming challenges. Do you know a good format for a letter?

Where can I obtain excellent sample letters or support in writing sponsorship letters (upgraded computers, software, equipment etc.) for a city Workforce Development Program that currently operating within the city?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
