Hi everybody,
Could you please check my letter and give me advice on how to improve it. The CEO has agreed to give us an airplane ticket but we need to write a formal letter first.
Thanks a lot
"To the Chief Executive Officer
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you on behalf of *** Association.
We are a French association trying to raise funds. For that purpose we are organising a "loto" (that is to say a sort of "bingo", except that people are awarded prizes instead of cash), which will be held on April, ***, within the walls of our association. The benefits of the "loto" will be attributed to the *** Bureau, the aim of which notably being to pay for fieldtrips or any other school trips with pedagogical/educational purposes.
As you may know, airplane tickets are attractive prizes and could enable us to expect more people to turn up. This is why, we request from your generosity an airplane ticket from X to Y.
In exchange, we are willing to offer to your company something in return, under the form of advertising (billboards or anything else you may require).
We very much hope that our expectations will be met by your services and would like to thank you in advance.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Kind regards "
