The reflexive use is not so common, however, as other uses: I always lay my clothes on the bed, and then I lie down on the floor! 	Pemmican  +  69552 Mon, 24 Jan 05 02:10 AM The "myself" could confuse though, a better way to differenciate is the following: "lay" is the causative form of the verb "lie", ----> i.e. "lay" means "to make something lie". So "I always lay my clothes on the bed" means that you "make them lie" on the bed. "I lay myself in bed" means that you "make yourself lie" in bed. (But don't confuse with "I lie in bed myself" - here it has to be "lie" (not lay)!)
