Hi,
Can I Say,
(A) The robbers asked the customers to lie on /lie stay on the floor. Don't say 'lie stay'.
(b) The robbers ordered the people to kneel (down) / squat (down) with their hands on the heads.
Are they same in meaning? A) 'Lie on' means they were full-length on the floor.
B) 'Kneel down' means they were on their knees, their knees were on the floor.
'Squat down' sounds like they were crouched. They were standing, and then they bent their legs and went down as far as they could, with their feet still on the floor.
Say 'on
their heads', not 'on the heads'.
