Hello community,

I am currently reading the thriller "Lies of Silence" by Brian Moore which is set in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  Now, I have been looking for the meaning of a "listed building set" in the Internet, tried to find pictures of such "sets" but I have now reached a dead-alley.

I hope some folks from the UK, Northern Ireland or Ireland can help me out, as I assume that "listed building sets" only exists in those regions.

Looking forward to your replies :)

Cheers,
Chris

Hi,

Please give us the sentence and context in which you found this phrase.

eg Was it something like 'It was a listed building set in a park'?

Best wishes, Clive

We can't tell out of context but Clive is probably right.

'Listed Building set' doesn't make much sense out of context.

A Listed Building is a building protected by law because of its age or architectural value.

Hello again,

I've looked it up again and Clive seems to be right.

In the book it says: '...a listed building set in five acres of landscaped gardens,...'

I seem to have not understood the sentence correctly. Thanks for clearing things up!

Cheers,

Chris
