Some websites have different versions tailored for the needs of different people, e.g. text version, low graphics version, accessibility version, mobile version etc.
I am thinking of creating a version of a website that is at the same time optimised for the blind (high accessibility) and also for mobile devices. I am thinking of a name for it. Do you think "lite version" is a good choice?
At first, I think "lite" is quite good, but I found from the Oxford Advanced Learner that the word "lite" is disapproving:
2(used after a noun) (disapproving) used to say that a thing is similar to sth else but lacks many of its serious or important qualities:
I would describe this movie as ‘Hitchcock lite’.
Do you really feel that "lite" used in this sense is disapproving?
