Hi again

Englishforums do not let me in until I enter the letter sequence required for the registration of new members. Is it ok?

Have you noticed if this happens every time or only when you have a problem with your password?

When you gain access by way of the "letter sequence," are you "annonomous" or "Ant"?

I logged in this way (which now doesn't work)
1) Enter login
2) Enter Password
3) Enter the letter sequence
4) Press Login

If I didn't enter the letters it said that the letter sequence is not correct...

Looks like everything is due to Opera... I successfully logged in from the university computer using IE. Plus, the e-mail notification indicator works correctly here...

I am using Opera as well. But it's all right with me. I had some problems with the old forum, but now it works all right even if I forget to change the Opera identification switch and I am still automatically logged in. So it doesn't seem like a problem of theOpera only.

Those letters have nothing to do with your login, they are only required for new users who want to register. All the info for new users who want to register is on the right of the login page, you just need to enter your login and password on the left of the page... if you just do that and you don't type the numbers, what does the system tell you?

If you don't have a sense of humor already, it's about time you buy one.

Hi Kooyeen!

That's why I called the thread "Login nonsense"!

Lemme tell you how I got myself logged in this time: I went to
the "login" page, entered there my pass and nick, and pressed
"Log In". You know what happened? -- I got back to the login
page, and, on the user registration half of it, above the
letter sequence fiel, which I had left empty, were the words:
"The entreded sequence didn't match" (or something like
  that...).

Then I commited an absurd act, a nonsence (sic!): I filled the
pass and login fields again, and additionally wrote the right
character sequence on the user registration half of the page.
Then I presed "Sign in", and... viola! I am in.

Sorry if that sounds like delirium, but that's how it was...

("Is it a fact?" -- "No, it's not a fact, it actually was so!"
  -- from "Usual Miracle")

P.S. Hope, you don't suspect me of sabotage against the new
EF. I'm not that mad ;)

Hmm, that's so strange, LOL! I have no idea...
The only thing you could try now is taking some screenshots when the problem occurs again, and give them to someone like an administrator together with other info like your browser(s) and its version, options you have enabled or disabled, etc.Smile

Well, it's fun living with these bugs:

I can use absolutely any html code in my posts, so I can
insert tables and anything html is capable of! Not sure this
works for normal users with normal browsers...

I am not exploiting this intensively except using preformatted
text (for normal text I have to manually html-fomat it, which
I dont't want to do every time at all!), but I did test
various tricks using the forum's "Preview" option.

Logging in is tricky and doesn't work sometimes, but I can
  beat it!

The only bad thing is that EF is very choosy about which threads
I deserve to be notified of... Does it work for you, maybe this
  one is a common problem...

...The admins have access to my profile settings, so they can
debug it without my assistance on that account (and I don't
mind it), and I'll readily take some screenshots if they'll be
  of help.

As to the settings, I run WinXP SP2 with Opera 9.0 (8502)
