could someone please tell me what is the meaning of "Long gone" and give some example sentences for it ?

It means that whatever is referred to has not been here for a long time; it left a long time ago.


A:  Where's your girl friend?

B:  Long gone.  She joined a gypsy band and fled into the hinterlands pursued by vigilantes.


A: How's your inheritance?

B:  It's long gone.  I spent it all on wine, women, and limited edition postmodernist prints.
