I don't even try to read those long words, nor count the letters, I trust all of you while saying the number of the letters!!Wink [;)]

There were so much repititions there,I guess that everyone wants to post HIS word, not caring that others have suggested it before :D

i really think it would be:

FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION

with 2 'C'sSmile [:)]

other words that you guys have given that are long are mostly the names of places, or chemical compounds, or diseases... some medical term, or words is another language...

i think the longest word would be an English word that we can USE in a normal day in life, without having a sophisticated occupation like being a scientist or blah blah.

what do ya think? :P

Hi,

I agree with you that smilesSmile [:)] is the longest word... you really were right and you really have very high imagination....

My father has a very, old Oxford dictionary and in it is the word "antidisestablishmentarianism" Just a little bit short of 30 letters.

antidisestablishmentarianism

The movement or philosophy of not disestablishing establishments.

I learned that in 8th grade as the longest "real" word in the english language.

I've always thought it was:

antidisestablishmentarianism

being against the whole church and state thing.
