phalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon (182 letters) This English transliteration of a Greek word from Aristophanes' comic play The Ecclesiazusae roughly means a stew made up of all the leftovers from the last two days. Ask for it if you can have it for dinner, that is, if you can pronounce it. lol.

Some of these words are obnoxiously long. I am scared. I like the floccinaucinihilipilification word, but I was always told that it meant "The act of thinking about how long it takes to do nothing".Tongue Tied [:S]But I guess everyone who told me that are liars, either that or they are just stupid!

Ok... Protein names (and proteins include enzymes, proteases, and all other biological macromolecules consisting of aminoacids) cannot count, simply because we don't know what the longest one is.
You mentioned a Tryptophan Synthetase, of some 267 aminoacids' length... in my university course I've been working with proteins more than double the size of that, which would obviously make much larger words, were we to recite their aminoacid residue names one next to the other and call it a word. It isn't - or shouldn't be thought of as a word, anyway.

I wanted to know the longest word that isn't scientific and what I found was ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM which is a movement opposed to the separation of church and state.
