Hi Jackson6612. You should use subjenctive form in the  above sentences.Subjunctive form means contrary to fact, unreal situation. You talk about something which didn't happen, something which wasn't real.So if you say He was eating like as if there was no tomorrow? you mean Oh my God!Why does he eat like that?He can eat tomorrow, too. He behaves so strangely. On the other hand, using it in present form as He was eating like as if there is no tomorrow is wrong because we will all see tomorrow life is still going on and you can't give any subjenctive meaning here to us.

Is the above sentence correct? Should it be ''but many times we have to use colon then what do we have to do in such cases''?

Please answer the above question.

This is better:

But we often have to use a colon.  What do we do in such cases?

What is difference in meaning between the  following sentences?

1.  He was eating like as if there is no tomorrow.

2.  He was eating like as if there was no tomorrow.

Hi Yoong Liat,

''Should it be written as'' is a interrogative statement, therefore I think question mark should be used at the end of this statement. But I have used colon instead of a question because colon was required there. Then does that mean there is no need for question mark here. Hope you understand my problem.

Could you please provide me with the sentence?
