The moon landing in the sixties and seventies certainly boost the pride of humanity by pooling the cutting-edge technology available at that time.

Is pooling appropiate here? What other words can be used here?
How to make this sentence sound more natural?

Thank you.

boosted past tense

technologies plural  (optional)

The landing was in '69.

pooling is good.  Can't think of another word.  - A.

pooling = drawing on (this is not a suggested improvement, but merely an option).

'combining' resources or skills so maybe ..."combining the cutting edge technologies..."

but not as good as 'pooling'

'Pooling' means everybody puts their stuff/technology/skills/resources into a 'pool' and then all share the benefits or proceeds of that collaboration.

Hi guys,
Here are a couple more comments.

The moon landing in the sixties and seventies certainly boost the pride of humanity by pooling the cutting-edge technology available at that time.

Is pooling appropiate here? It depends on what you mean. Is it true that all the countries with cutting-edge technologies pooled them? I rather doubt that.

What other words can be used here?
How to make this sentence sound more natural?

I'd prefer 'landings'.

Best wishes, Clive

Hehe true

It was more of a top secret, cold war-driven, US vs Russia race to the moon, than a team effort. (:P) Stick out tongue

Naw, we were there.  But we made a deal not to reveal the aliens' bases on the back side, in exchange for anti-gravity technology.Sleep
