forgive my poor english its something i struggle greatly with always have and afraid i always will

ive been reading trying to read a 2nd grade english book in attempts to learn it once and for all i dont understand this sentence thing it dosnt make sense and i dont see any possible use for it the book im reading says that its a complete thought but how do you determine if any thought is fully complete? it gives an example that "lets go to the park" is one of these sentence things but "sunny days" is not im rather confused as i would imagine sunny days would be rather a contained and complete i also understand that words are definitions of experiences id imagine an experience such as "sunny days" is a complete experience thinking of an experience would be a thought right? i also have attemtped to find something of an authorative person organization or writings that may hopefully explain these things i wish to know about english everything that i have read or been answered with is simply that everyone is their own authority on english if this is the case how can anyone agree? who would be more right? i have also heard that the works of shakespear are what some people may call authorative correct me if im wrong but these were writings around the days of columbus and the language has changed alot since then? ive also heard there are a few inconsistancies aswell how is this authorative? and what can i learn from it? i have tried many tutors teachers from school friends family books and extremely frustrating attempts at research on the

web to these questions and any others ive had any insight to help me understand would be graciously accepted its extremely depressing being able to exceed just about any where else in my life with the exception of english or language in general and embarrassing to think i cant even get past the first page of a 2nd grade english book thank you for any help you that may help me figure this out

OK, try this idea instead:  a sentence has a subject and a finite verb.
