Anonymous“If your answer was "yes" to the above question, you will go to step 2. ”
This is possible, but as an instruction the imperative would normally be used.
If your answer was "yes", go to step 2.
Anonymous“If you would, I will be happy.”
This pattern is extremely, extremely rare. The meaning would be taken, in the context you have supplied, as "If you say that you would, I will be happy" or, abbreviated, "If you say so, I'll be happy".

He should act as if he were/is poor. Either is acceptable.
He should act as if he had/have has the capacity to help. Either is acceptable (as corrected).

Do you think it is correct with the present tense after the phrase "as if"? I think replacing the present tense "are" with the past tense "were" is incorrect.
You look as if you are very happy.
”
It is correct as it stands.
were would be grammatically correct, but most speakers would probably say
are.
were sounds less certain, more hypothetical, and uncertainty does not sound correct combined with the direct observation
You look .... (Others may have a different opinion about this.)
