What's the meaning of make in the following sentence: We are never going to make it.

'Make' hear means "accomplishing, to achieve a goal". So, if it is rewritten, it could mean "We're never doing to do it!". It could be one person suggested climbing Mount Everest, and his friend, being realistic could say "Hah, we are never going to make it to the top.".

Hope this helps.

In this sense, the word 'make' is related to progress WRT to time.

Another variation would be if you are late for an appointment 'We are never going to make it in time'
