I'd like to put a sign at the newspaper rack. Here is the message I will leave on the sign.

Please return the papers after reading them.

Does this sound OK? Or can you advise me on better wording? Thanks.

It sounds okay to me.  Depending on how the rack is constructed, you might want to add, "Please return the papers to the rack after reading them."
