'Creating.'  'Own' isn't need, by the way.  Also, when you asked at the beginning, it should be 'can replace.'

Hi,

"They are changing our own lives for the better by becoming ever faster and more reliable."

You can't say 'making ever faster. . . ', you'd have to say 'making them faster . . . '

Obviously, some context is needed to justify the use of the word 'own'.

Best wishes, Clive

I just noticed this; does the 'ever faster and more reliable' actually state what is faster and more reliable?  Otherwise, I would believe it to be a sentence fragment.  Of course Clive's change makes sense, but I just wanted to make sure about the original.

Thanks Clive,

Your explanation is helpful. And the answer for my question is that "own" should be omitted.

Thanks.
