I want to change it to be: My asking is kind of sign. Which is more normal? Thanks.

Me asking is kind of sign.   My asking is a kind of sign.

This should be no wrong with kind of, which equals some or certain. Of course, yours is also right but kind of different.

May I have a little bit of further input here? Thanks.

My asking is a kind of sign.

You do need the 'a' in this sentence. 'My asking is kind of sign' is incorrect.

Or, using kind of (or sort of) in a slangy way,

My asking is kind of a sign.

In either case, you need a.

Thanks a lot, all you guys. By adding an "a" in the title sentence, is there any chance that "Me asking is kind of a sign" is correct? I just realized that "asking" could be regarded as modifying "Me" and "Me" here is the subject. But is there any chance that "me" can act as a subject? Thanks.

"Me" can't be a subject because it's the wrong case.  If  "I" becomes the subject instead of "asking", then you're wondering if you can be some kind of sign.  I.e., you want to swap the subject and the modifier.

No.  I don't think that analysis does the job.  me by itself can't be a subject.  At best, the implied clause me asking would be the subject.   But the use of that sort of subject puts the statement in a lower register.

The following all have the same basic meaning.

That I should ask is a kind of sign.
For me to ask is a kind of sign.
Me asking is a kind of sign.
My asking is a kind of sign.

(Subjects underlined.)
