Hi,

When should I use mean or meant?

For example: "Although I know people wouldn't just say those things unless they meant them!"

Is "meant" used correctly here?

Thanks

It sounds good to my ear, but I'm no expert on conditionals.   (I wouldn't start the sentence with "Although," unless it's conversational, and fits what preceded.)

Simple past and present  -  I meant what I said.   I mean what I say.

Best regards,  - A.
