While you might want to read the novel to fully grasp the title, I can give a simpler definition.
Pride is one of those words which can be extremely positive or extremely negative. Pride can be the sense of standard (dignity) that you associate yourself with, or confidence in yourself. Pride can be the feeling of superiority you get upon accomplishment of some great task or conquered obstacle. However, pride can also be related to conceit and pretentiousness.
Therefore, it is easily deduced why the two words go together: pride can spawn prejudice and always accompanies prejudice. They just go together.
