I was also wondering about the abbreviation following

a particular Doctor's name:  NACP

I've seen this used without an MD as a suffix as well.

This caused me to be concerned about my medical professionals

credentials.  Could you lend a hand and put me at ease.

Many thanks.

NCC- Nationally Certified Counselor
ASC-Addicion Specialist, Certified earned after a BS or a BA but not with a MA or MS or MSW.

DO or sometimes OD stands for Doctor of Osteopathic medicine, it uses the body to heal itself. It is a non-invasive approach to healing by using the bodies own immune system and manipulating of tissue by palpating the body.
