What does DO abbreviation stand for in the medical field?
Anonymous, 3 yr 323 days ago

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;

   Could you please tell me what the highest degree an MD can earn is, or is there no limit?  I would like to know the abbreviations for the highest MD degree -- if it exists (esp. in the USA).

    There is a man telling me I'm "wrong" again !!!  So your help is very important to me.  THANKS !!!

                                                                     Sincerely,

                                                                     Barbara Ann Hansen, LPN   (Florida)

DO also stands for "Doctor of Osteopathy" (I believe this is a holistic type doctor.)

Hi,

Could you please tell me what the highest degree an MD can earn is

As a layman, my understanding is that an MD is itself the highest medical degree. However, I look forward to comments from people in the medical field.

Best wishes, Clive

I am trying to find out what MPS and ATR-BC means. Is this a degree or something. It is for a person who is a medical practitioner.

Hi,

ATR-BC = Board Certified Art Therapist

MPS = I don't know, but I think it refers to some form of therapy that falls under the umbrella of alternative medicine.

I suggest you look for this kind of thing by searching the 'Net. That's what I did.

Best wishes, Clive
