so I was typing up a paper for school and i got one of those little squiggly things over a comma. and it suggestion was instead of one, they said I should do two like this: ",," I guessing that my sentence structure is wacky, but has anyone heard of this? or is there a case where one would use this? Thanks

Was the MS Word suggestion something like this:

,,Microsoft Word spell check is crazy ... or am I?'' ==> German style quotation marks.

I'm not aware of any double comma situation in English.  However, I know my MS Word spell check program tends to jump around between languages at will, so if your spell check program had set itself to German for that word or for that part of the text, the program might have been telling you that it thought you ought to use German-style quotation marks.Tongue Tied [:S]

However wacky your sentence structure, I'm sure MS Spell and Grammar Check is even wackier.
Ignore any crazy stuff it does like that!  Smile [:)]

You might try checking everything around that area, though, to see if there's some other mistake, and the software just got confused because of that other mistake.
