There is a msitake in some of the pink words.In which ?

Before the newspaper became widespread, a town crier

has walked thoughout a village or a town singing out the news .

you need past perfect here, IMO, check the time sequence

Use walked or used to walk or would walk, not has walked.
The present perfect cannot be used when a particular time is mentioned.
Here, the particular time is "before the newspaper became widespread", so "has walked" is impossible.
