I think this statement is not grammatically correct and it can cause readers to be mistaken.

Is my sentence correct?

I mean, readers can misunderstand what the sentence mean.

This is how I see it:
I would reword it as “I think this statement is not grammatically correct as it may mislead readers / cause readers to misunderstand… “
