As for home users, Smulders said he sees a future in which the PC will become part of the living room, where it will morph and blend into the home environment much like audio systems and televisions.

Is "morph" a figure of speech?

I looked up the dictionary, and found it's related to "metamorphosis", which has a biological meaning.

Take it as a transformation, a change in form.
-------
morph

intransitive verb
1 : to undergo transformation from an image of one object into that of another especially by means of computer-generated animation
2 : to undergo transformation

transitive verb : to change the form or character of : TRANSFORM

Hi guys,

I'd just like to comment that 'morph' is a trendy, hi-tech, computer-graphics, jargon-y kind of word. In everyday English, you'll seldom hear it and you should seldom use it.

Best wishes, Clive
