Objective
The challenging tasks of finance, particularly investment and financial management, always intrigue me.
Experiences
During my undergraduate studies, I developed, individually and on a teamwork basis, different software programs for practical applications including:
1. I developed human resource software called 'Project Personnel Management' for Development Design Consultants Ltd (DDC), a large international consulting firm. Human resource managers can use this software to access details of workers addresses, workloads, performances, salaries and workstations. The software helps the managers to assign workers and engineers to new projects, and it also assists them in reducing wastage of time by their workforces, thus minimizing their costs.
2. In association with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Bangladesh and Dhaka Stock Exchange, I developed “Forecasting of Stock Prices”. I implemented short term forecasting software for the general public who invest on the stock market. This software helps investors choose the right stocks at the right time. 'Forecasting of Stock Prices' offers 5- to 10-day predictions of share prices for all the companies listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. Because of time and data constraints, I was unfortunately unable to implement longer term forecasting software.
3. I gathered experience as a Web Developer while taking the Advanced Internet and Web Technology course under the guidance of Dr. Miftahur Rahman, Department Head of Computer Science and Engineering, North South University. I built an Online Automated Auction System named 'dhaka-bay'. The main advantage of dhaka-bay is that anyone can buy or sell products on the Internet while sitting at home. It helps business owners to reduce their business costs by using the 'Just-in-Time' method. Retail owners can order from the supplier at the same time that customers order from them, thus reducing inventory cost and maximizing profit. Customers also benefit,in that they can buy goods at cheaper prices via dhaka-bay. An Intelligent Search Engine is also integrated into dhaka-bay, so that consumers can search for products easily. Dhaka-bay mainly performs customer-to-customer type (C2C) transactions.
4. I gained experience as a Database Administrator and created a database system named 'Music Information System' for the music industry, under the direct guidance of Emdad Ahmed of North South University. Music Lovers can search for a particular song, singer or album in the database.
5. In my MIS460 course under the guidance of Nurul Hasan Khan, I built a decision support system for a taxicab fleet, Dhaka Cab Distribution System (DCDS). Cab companies can deploy their vehicles throughout Dhaka effectively, efficiently and for maximum customer support.
6. I developed an online book catalogue for the country’s renowned publishing company, Ankur Prokashoni.
7. I acquired experience as Network Administrator while taking course CSC338 under the guidance of M.S.Raunak, Associate Professor, North South University.
Present Employment
During my education, I started my career as an Investment Consultant in 1996, and now it has become my profession, though I graduated in Computer Science. In 2003, along with several associates, I launched Silicon Nerve, a software and game development company, for which I am currently acting as Business and IT Executive.
