Hi,

I would really like to have someone look over my motivation letter. I thas only been proofread once, and would love to have as many inputs as i can get.

Thank you in advanced

Alex

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Alexander *** and I’m originally from Germany. I apply for the decentralized bachelor of International Business for the fall term in 2006. In approximately five till ten years, I would like to be employed as a manager within a international corporation specialized in finance or logistics. I am confident, the program offered by the University of YYY seems perfectly adjusted to provide the preparation in order to achieve my clear cut objectives.

Until the age of 16 or grade 10, I was a student of the Gymnasium ( high school) in Grevenbroich, Germany. Following that, I decided to widen my horizon by pursuing my further education in the country of Canada. Here, I attended a well known international private school named Albert College, located in Belleville, Ontario. After accomplishing my first year in Grade 11, I decided to graduate in Grade 12 where I was among the top six students at the end of the year. The international exposure in this school has provided me with valuable experience about all kinds of cultures and traditions around the world. Furthermore, it has also improved my leadership skills since was part of the student council. Various voluntary work throughout the community, such as the big brother program,  has given me an insight into the importance of community support and an active civil society. After high school, I accepted the offer from the bilingual University of *** where I am currently studying Political Science and history.

My desire to attend *** has been apparent since I was exposed to certain elective courses in *** and my entire academic year is devoted to that goal. Throughout my first semester, I took two different elective business classes that have inspired me profoundly. I am fascinated by the decision making process and the detailed analysis that is needed to manage a company. Subsequently, I decided to try an economics course in order to confirm the interest, and provide a sufficient preparation for the studies of international business. Furthermore, I am attending my second Spanish course knowing that *** offers exchange programs to Spain. Before that, I visited a French school in Montreal in order to keep my French skills sufficiently alive. I  am also currently working on an additional calculus online course, which is supposed to prepare me for future mathematical tasks that would surely await me in ***.

I have always been interested in various fields of study such as sciences, social sciences, and arts. As a result, it has not been obvious to me which type of an academic path, I should pursue. As my current program suggests, I am very interested in economic, social, and political world affairs. Due to the fact, that almost all my friends do not come from Europe, the tremendous opportunity has been given to me to see the world through the eyes of various nationalities and cultures, including the Asian, African, and North American perspective. I’m very enthusiastic about learning about, and from new cultures, their stories, and experiences. I’m certain that the sum of this knowledge would give me an efficient entry into understanding business in various parts of the globe. Since uncertainty remained of what I wanted to study, I engaged into a long lasting talent and skill test, which has given me crucial information about what my strength are.  Because of above average results in organizational skills, analytical thinking, math skills, and general knowledge, I have become convinced that the study of business would be the ideal choice. Since I’m also keenly interested in various languages such as German, English, French, and Spanish, I considered the *** offer to be extremely attractive. Sports, which play a big role in my daily life, has taught me how to face and accomplish goals in a fair and determined manner. Throughout my time in a different country without my family, I have learned to quickly adapt to new environments and challenges.

In addition to the reasons that are already given, I would love to study in *** because it is a very well known University located at the heart of Europe. Its international ambiance is extraordinary, and extremely important to my constant desire to learn more about world perspectives. My past life has consisted of many challenges that an usual native speaker would not have to face. Having experienced the German education system, I have adapted to the Canadian strategy and its way of life. I would be delighted to get the chance to experience the Dutch system which has an excellent reputation. I am eager and determined to face the new challenge and I hope this opportunity can be given to me.

Sincerely
