I am student of fifth year of engineering faculty of xxxUniversity and I will graduate from a five year bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from xxxUniversity in December 2008. I have always maintained an excellent grade average, and I feel that I am a high achiever with outstanding work and study habits.

 I always wanted to go and study abroad.Studying in Germany seems like the perfect opportunity for me to meet other cultures, meet people with a different way of thinking, improve my knowledge, learn another language and experience German education system as well as gain more independence.Of course it would give me practical experience and opportunity to test how I could arrange everything all by myself. For me, one of the most prominent personal reasons for studying in Germany is superiority of German universities in research and teaching specially in engineering field with exceptional and superior teachers and researchers and other reason is excellent facilities and services for foreign students in Germany.

I chose civil engineering as my undergraduate major because I like science, math and technology.When I began my undergraduate career; I had the opportunity to be exposed to the full range of engineering courses, all of which tended to reinforce and solidify my intense interest in engineering.Particular interest of mine is concrete structures and last summer when I was a part time asst engineer at a famous xx construction company by the name of DNC for project of terminal of xx international airport, I learned about its many practical applications, especially in relation to steel and concrete design. I was also a part time assistant engineer at HMCC Construction Company in project of science academy of xx during my undergraduate studies for one year.I have been an active member of YLF (young leader forum) group that is a group of most intelligent and efficient youth of xx since March 2008 and FES (Feredrich Ebert Stiftung) foundation support this group.I participated in some workshops about leadership, communication skills, teambuilding and self management that Dr. Gerd Hilger, who is a German professional trainer was the trainer of these workshops in 2008.I also have some skills about social issues such as communication skills and self management.

 After I earn my master's degree, I intend to start work on my Ph.D. in civil engineering. Later I would like to work in the area of research and development for civil engineering because I would like to become an efficient professor in my college and help students to learn more about new technology. I would like to share my idea and information with other persons and help poor people of Afghanistan as much as possible for me.I would like to ensure that the students receive in-depth training on the level of the foundation subjects in civil engineering and lead the student to personally choose his own profile from between the "generalist" and "specialist" orientations. I want to develop a critical scientific spirit, capable of modelling, all the while putting emphasis on experimental verifications in laboratories. I want to provide an educational experience of highest quality to undergraduate students through a program of study that accommodates the individual's interests and career goals.

One of the most important objectives of my study is serving the engineering profession, industry, and University, the State, and society with valuable leadership, participation, and knowledge and I also want to provide regular and special instruction on communication, leadership/management skills, principles of ethics, and other subjects that prepare the student for professional practice who are playing leading roles in the practice of civil engineering worldwide and to develop leadership skills, demonstrate proficiency in all forms of communication, and perform well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.I want to pursue my study objectives because of my technical knowledge and expertise in math, sscience and engineering to identify, formulate and solve problems involving design, experimentation, and analysis of a wide variety of Civil Engineering applications.

 I believe obtaining a Master's Degree in Germany will provide the necessary background for me to be to anticipate and react to ever-changing environments. Having this knowledge will allow me to better understand civil engineering principles, and contribute in the transfer of knowledge and modern civil engineering  theories to my country. It’s really important for me to receive scholarship because my financial condition can’t afford me to pursue any abroad study programs.

I'm sure you have already got an idea of how much I'd like to come and become a graduate student in DAAD scholarship program, but all the same, I'll use one more opportunity to express how strongly I desire to pursue my research career in Germany.
