Dear Sir or Madam

I appreciate this opportunity to provide further background information in support of my application for entrance to the X program at the X School of X for the 2009 autumn term.

I am convinced that the program corresponds well with my future plans of seeking a career in an international company. It is my dream and ambition to be admitted and pursue my post-graduate studies in the field of Marketing in order to develop a career that leads to working across the world.

In October 2008 I have graduated from the X with Bachelor with Honors in Business Management and English as an International Languages. I have chosen a joint degree for two main reasons, firstly to improve my English fluency secondly to gain broad knowledge of business management. The studies gave me a broad knowledge of the most important aspects of business and helped realizing I want to pursue my future career in a field of marketing focusing on the new areas such as online and mobile marketing.

Studying abroad was, by any means, a great test but looking back at the experience as a whole I consider it to be one of the best decisions I ever made. It has taught me working as a part of an international community, time management, highly improved my interpersonal skills.

Decision to continue studies came natural to me, however after analyzing my financial situation and previous struggles to manage both full time work and studies; I have decided to take a yearlong break in order to economize the necessary funds, which would enable me to focus fully on studying.

In November 2008 I have moved to Berlin aiming to improve my German as also willing to conduct an internship in a Marketing Department. Luckily for me such an opportunity came in February when I was invited to join Marketing Communication Team at the X. During three months of internship my responsibilities included extensive market research, comprehensive usability assessments, supporting online marketing and product development activities. The internship was a great experience as also made me aware how much I still have to learn if I want to persuade my career in Marketing Department in an international company.

There are specific reasons why I want to study at the X School. Firstly I want to receive a high-quality degree. Secondly because of the international approach the school takes. Thirdly the impact placed on a correlation between academic theory and real-life practice. I'm convinced that the program corresponds well with my aim of working in an international field related to marketing and business affairs.

I believe that the combination of my past experiences and academic knowledge will qualify me as an XXX student candidate, and furthermore will prepare me to achieve my career goals in the future. Learning is what I do best, and in XXX I will have the perfect opportunity to excel at it.

Your faithfully

Marta XXX
