hi dudes...I am mixed up with the expression must have looked...Would you please explain what does it mean and when do we use it,give me more example please,(you know It is a question in my mind that why don’t we say have to instead of must)

It expresses, about a past event, speculation that is very close to certainty.

eg He fell down the stairs so badly that he must have broken his leg.

eg He's so late that I think he must have had a car accident.
