Is what B said natural and correct?

As a sentence, yes.

I can't see the sense as a reply to the first sentence though. I guess you need a bit more context. What is B remembering wrongly?

Thanks for replying, Nona the brit.

I wanted B to remember incorrectly when the wedding reception is. A tells B what A actually said to B sometime ago. Which was the actual date the wedding reception is on.

Does this make sense? Should I alter my dialogue?
