my accent?

The recording is about 50 seconds long. And I know it's of crappy quality.

Could any/some English speaking people help me out? For long I've been wondering about my pronunciation, but we never ever talked about that in class (and now my school no longer offers English as subject), so I would REALLY appreciate if you could listen to the audio piece, and let me know how it sounds. I myself know nothing about accents, in most cases I can hear the difference between an american and a british accent, but I can't hear the difference between lets say an australian and a brit, or a canadian and an american. Er, and at times I have mistaken an american for a briton ... I've been asked about my dialect and find it embarrassing when I myself don't know what accent my language most resembles.

Thanks in advance Big Smile [:D]

Very interesting, Saska.  First of all, your English is quite clear and pleasant.  As an American, I too have difficulty pinpointing your accent.  It sounds like Australian with a touch of Scottish to me-- but that is my naivete.  We need some input from a Brit-- it may resemble some regional UK accent, most of which I am not familiar with.

Hi,
I didn't listen to much of that, and I didn't understand much either (bad quality, bad listening skills, etc.), but I can say it's not American English for sure. Big Smile [:D]
I think I heard you pronounce "that day" more or less like I would pronounce "dot die"... so it shouldn't be "mainstream" BrE either, but maybe it's close to a particular British accent, or an Australian one.

If you don't have a sense of humor already, it's about time you buy one.
