NEAKA
Literally 'root cheerful'. It is a slang
term used mostly by young people in Japan.
Are there similar slang words in English?
Cheerful not only now but it is his/her
born trait.
NEKURA
Literally 'root somber'. The opposite of the above.
Thank you.

Optimist: Someone that expects good things to happen. Could possibly mean someone that is born cheerful.

Pessimist: the opposite.

I think your idea of looking for slang equivalents between two languages is misconceived. They are not always there. French  for example has a slang word for "to miss", but if there is a slang word for "to miss" in English I do not know it. Similarly one language may express something in one word while another takes several. Spanish "madrugar" means "to get up early in the morning"; on the other hand there is no everyday word meaning "to feed" in Spanish - you have to say "dar de comer a" literally "to give to eat to".

An old-fashioned phrase: someone who has a "sunny disposition". Or a "cheery disposition".
