(1) My house is very near to the train station.
(2) My house is very near from the train station.

Are both sentences natural English sentences? Are they perhaps British English?

Well, I think that only the first one is correct. I have always seen the word "to" being used with "near".

Your second sentence is not particularly natural.  It would be better to say one of these, for example:

(1) My house is very near (to) the train station.  (The word 'to' is optional.)
(2) My house is not very far from the train station.
