i need input on this essay and please help me fix any grammatic error
For my final paper in this course, I chose Jung’s theory of dream as my topic because dreams have always fascinated me. I want to know how the human mind works when we are in the sleeping stage and what cause us to dream. My thesis for this paper would be Carl Jung proposed that a dream expresses collective unconscious memories and instincts shared by all people. I chose this thesis because I want to control what I want to write about in my paper instead of let the thesis control me.
In order for me to accomplish writing this paper, I have to do research because every paper begins with some type of sources either from the primary sources, or the secondary sources. These sources can be found in the Cornelly library, or other library via the internet. I want some of my sources for my paper come from scholarly articles and two or three books. Therefore, I logged onto the Cornelly library website and used the article search engines such as: Proquest, Lexis, and First Search. These engines provide legitimate material for my research paper unlike other engines on the internet that provide illegitimate materials. I started out with First Search by typed in dreams as my keyword and the number of results was quite large. So I added Carl Jung to the keywords box and the results I received is 53.
From the title, I leave out all the articles that does not involve with dream. After the search I started to look for article in La Salle Library first because I do not want to use the interlibrary loan. I had a bad experience with it last semester. Interlibrary loans is my last resort because it takes other library quite a lengthy time to send me the material I needed for my research. After looking, I found out that Conelly Library only contains six articles. This means that I must use the interlibrary to get other article. In order for me to turn the paper in on time I must start sign up for the interlibrary within this week.
Most of the articles are not in full text and I don’t want to read the whole article because it would take too much of my time. Therefore, I started to read the abstract of the articles. After reading all the abstracts of the article I selected three articles that deal with my topic. This will give me enough material to start my paper.
The first article was on how our mind works when we are sleeping. This article talk about the how our brain functions
The second article I selected was about dream and dreaming. The article does not include the practice and the theory of dream. I want to use this article in my paper because it contains a different perspective about dream. This will help me back up my thesis.
In doing my previous paper I learned that unconscious and conscious are the reason that we dream. Therefore, I selected this article about how dreams are connected to the unconscious and conscious. This will be useful for my paper because I can prove that dream does not occur if there isn’t something wrong with our unconscious.
I chose to use two books for my paper. In order to obtain these books, I went to the library and used the library catalog on the computer. I type in Carl Jung dreams in the keyword box and I received six results. I chose two out of the six books. One is talk about the dream theory and how dreams are interpret. The other book is talked about dream analysis. These two books will help give some background information about my topic.
After doing the research I found out that my thesis is too control for the paper therefore I need to adjust my thesis to. Dreams play an important role in our lives. It helps us diagnose our inner conscious illness and it shows a sign for the future
