Hi! I need help with two sentences. Can you please help me with the grammar or any changed that need to be made.

Eddie was the only student who had the privilege to use the administrator's office to do personal work, or to relax there during classes. He took advantage of that privilege, and perpetrated illegal actions, but I never had the courage to voice my thoughts.

I would have written it with very few differences, like this:

Eddie was the only student who had the privilege of using the administrator's office to do personal work or to relax there during classes. He took advantage of that privilege and committed illegal acts, but I never had the courage to voice my concerns.

As the sentence tone tells us that this action by the subject has got over we can put it in this manner...
