I would like to introduce myself. My name is ***. I am graduated from *** University, *** - Indonesia in ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Department, majoring in POWER SYSTEM. My undergraduate program has given me a strong background in the fundamentals of various Electrical Engineering subjects, Digital Engineering, Microprocessor Systems, Fundamental of Electrical Machines, Numerical Computation, etc and Power System Engineering topics like Power Electrical Distribution, Electronics Control Power Systems, Computer Electrical Power System, Electrical Power Transmission, etc.
The field of ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING has always fascinating to me. I picked up the rudiments of POWER SYSTEM field and ELECTRICAL field from my lecturers, friends and professionals who have successfully graduated from different universities, which has stimulated my self to take up further specialized studies in this field.
Due to my deep inclination towards Electrical Engineering I underwent a nine weeks of industrial filed training at ***, PT, Which has given me a great insight to the various aspects of Power Generation and Transformer and Generator Protection and operation. I have also completed four weeks training in ***, PT about deep understanding of the functioning and maintenance of electricity including the concepts of Power Distribution System, Power Factor, etc.
My project work in the final year was entitled “Influence of Power Factor Improvement to Reduction Losses at Feeder” notify that power capacitor injection in feeder can improve power factor and reduce losses. This project used EDSA 2.95 as analysis software to observe voltage drop, feeder optimizations, and losses with numerical method.
During my two years of working experiences in industry, I got much clear idea about Indonesia industries and conditions. Here in ***, we are facing lot of problems due to unstable power. Continuous production plants are suffering a lot due to a single power failure even for a moment. In a short, Indonesia is not having power generation to meet the required demand. If we compare our power system with power system of high-tech country, then power system of high-tech country is much more stable & purer, it means without variation of voltages and frequency.
I believe that, by studying in advanced technological country like yours, I will be able to enhance my knowledge with the opportunity of getting exposure to the latest technological advanced development. That’s why I want to pursue my Master of Electrical engineering in your country. And by that, I will know how to strike a balance between power demand and power generation which is extremely important for the progress of my country. I shall have heightened self fulfillment and expanded employment to achieve my profession of serving my country in a better way. Applying the knowledge of fundamental sciences to industrial practices I want to address the economic and industrial challenges facing in my country Indonesia, to realize my dreams. Through the application material and the inquiries from the Indonesia Students in the University has led me to believe that the Department of Electrical Engineering at your esteemed institution is dedicated to teaching, research and services. An opportunity to work in the sate of art facilities under the guidance of erudite and scholarly faculty who hold international reputation, I believe will bring out the very best in me.
With the liberalization of Indonesian government to permitting generation units and company, the opportunities for professionals in Electrical Engineering is booming. I wish to give my contribution to the technological and resource development of my country as this will a state of satisfaction by contributing to mankind to preserve earth for future generation. It is my sincere belief that I can fulfill this goal, only by studying further at your esteemed university. I shall be highly thankful, if you would give me the opportunity to fulfill my life’s ambitions. I will be grateful if I can get financial assistance / scholarship from the Swedish Institute and the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA) for Key Personnel in Developing Countries in Master programs.
