This is quite an applied lisquistics. When you wanna set a new courriculum, you should carry out needs analysis (Nunan, D.-he is a guru in english teaching). I just wonder why "need" requires "s". I have seen some like this, but couldn't remember right now. Please explain me....
thanks in advance

Hi Lowsq!
Analysis is a singular word that's why you need an "s" . The plural form of "analysis" is "analyses"
Hope this helps!!

Nunan and others call it a needs analysis because it analyzes the students' needs. Here 'need' is a countable noun, and the coiner of the phrase wished to make that clear.

'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master-- that's all.'
