Just a simple question. Does this sentence sound natural?

I don't think science is a negative thing.

Grammatically it sounds natural (in conversation or informal writing). I'm just struggling slightly to imagine why anyone would say this. To me, "science" is a completely neutral and objective investigation of how the natural world works, that can't, in itself, be either "negative" or "positive". Applications of scientific knowledge can, of course, have negative or positive effects, but not "science" itself. Other people may not see it the same way.

If it were 'a dangerous thing' instead, would you still be struggling, MW?

If I was being consistent, I suppose I'd have to say "yes", but actually this seems fine to me.

For your information, here are what I've found:

I don't think science is a negative thing (I am a Computer Science major). Now, could the need for scientific proof destroy spirituality? I believe it can, people fail to realize that the scientific method is by no means the only way to know truth and demanding all principles to subject to its postulates can produce a skewed view of reality.

・If reality is a negative thing, then it follows logically that science is a negative thing.

That's actually false. The scientific method is accurate, and it doesn't imply you always have to behave like a crazy scientist all the time. There are scientists who are religious. But this is off topic, if you want you can start a thread in the topic of the moment section or somewhere else.
