Why dont I just re-write this for you?
Before printing press was invented, it was hard to obtain news, information and knowledge. Many people got news and knowledge from gossip or tales...until Gutenberg invented printing press. The world was changed forever. Information began to spread from East to West and from North to South and the first public newspaper was published in this time .The newspaper became a channel for public opinion. The world was changed again when waves had been discovered. This soon led to the invention of the radio. We were able to get news visually and hear it when television and film came. Despite people having many ways to get news, the newspaper is still important today. But I will classify the important factors by two types, according to the consumer viewpoint and the commercial viewpoint.
There are three factors to consider when talking about the viewpoint of a consumer: Cheapness, conveneince and variety. Firstly, the price is the most important factor. In many countries, people can buy newspapers for just two or three cents. The second most important factor is convenienience. Other mass media, especially electronic mass media need other things to support them - for example, to power the television, you will need electric, to get the internet, you will need to pay a service charge. Although, with a newspaper, you only need light to read it. The last factor is variety. Most people want many features such as cartoons, articles, the news and puzzles in one place - and the newspaper provides a home for all three.
When looking at this from a commercial viewpoint, two main groups of people need to be considered: the advertiser's viewpoint and from the public relation's view point. However, they have same reason for sending massages to the public. Also, the newspaper is made so a wide range of people can read it and it is cheaper to advertise than other medias.
