1 I noticed she came in after me
2 I noticed her come in after me.

Are both correct? If yes, why is the second grammatically correct?
Thanks.

Hi,
1 I noticed she came in after me
2 I noticed her come in after me.

Are both correct? Yes.
If yes, why is the second grammatically correct?

1 I noticed (that) she came in after meThis is a subordinate clause.
2 I noticed her (to) come in after me. This is an infinitive phrase. It's similar to saying 'I saw Mary cook dinner'.

Best wishes, Clive

2 I noticed her come in after me.

Correct, and it means:

2 I noticed her coming in after me.

or:

2 I noticed her to (have) come in after me.
