Try doing it this way.
Is "this way" a noun phrase that functions adverbially by modifying the gerund "doing"?
Thank you.
Hi,
I wouldn't call it a noun phrase, because I see it as a shortened form of 'in this way'.
Best wishes, Clive

It seems to me to have the same function as the adverb 'slowly' if, for example, you say
Try doing it (in)this way slowly.
