HELLO. I´M FROM BRAZIL AND NEED HELP WITH NUMBERS IN ENGLISH. I´D LIKE TO KNOW:
1) IF COMMAS ARE NECESSARY WHEN WRITING LARGE NUMBERS. FOR EXAMPLE:
FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE OR FIVE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE?
2) IF THE "AND" IS NECESSARY OR I CAN JUST SAY FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-THREE;
3) IF IT´S CORRECT TO SAY "A THOUSAND A HUNDRED TWO" (1102);
4) IF THERE´S A RULE FORE SUBSTITUTING "ONE" BY THE ARTICLE "A", LIKE THE EXAMPLE BEFORE.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

First, yes, you need the comas among each number, but you don't need the and. just write the number.

It is not correct to say "A thousand a hundred two" Just say one thousand one hundred two.

I do not think there's a rule fro subtituying one for the article a. Just use the word one. You can say A hundred bill, but in that case you are refering to the bill instead of the hundred.

For example: 1973 one thousand nine hundred seventy three. Do not write comas among the numbers.
