Please help me about this sentence

"He imagines that when he's interested, when he thinking, his brain is moving , stretching itself, leaning this way and that, flexing. When his brain stops moving--that is , when he's bored--off goes the TV ,closed goes the book, turned out goes the teacher."

What's the meaning of "off goes the TV , closed goes the book, turned out goes the teacher."er."

Thanks so much

When his brain stops moving--that is , when he's bored:

- he switches off the TV

- the closes the book

- the teacher (in himself??) is evicted

It could also mean that when he's bored/his brain isn't 'active', then he no longer takes in what he's watching on the TV, or reading from a book, or listening to from a teacher.
