Can I say "She often can go to the movies."?

Hello, everyone!

We can say "She can often go to the movies." But can we say "She often can go to the movies."? If we can say in that way, what's the difference between them?

From a communicative standpoint, if you use either order, many native speakers probably wouldn't notice the switch, and the meaning would be the same unless you used inflection to emphasize the auxiliary or the adverb.

However, from a grammatical perspective, in situations such as writing, it's best to stick to the rules in the link above.

There's no big difference, but the standard position of an adverb of frequency is after the operator.
