"on the same"

Hi.
This is my first post to his forum. My colleague and I have been arguing as to whether the phrase "on the same" is grammatically correct. Could someone pls help us out?
IMHO this phrase should be used instead of repeating something, in a context similar as the one shown below:

"This is with reference to your email.  Thank you for a prompt reply on
the same."

Hi, welcome to the forums!

OOO its close Suita, you could get away with saying that but you'd have to use it very accurately.

It's (in the above context) short for 'On the same theme'

Are you sure you're not confusing it with 'all the same'?
