I encountered these while practicing for the SAT

I don't understand what these following statements say:

1) Sans love, what does the author purport to be the state of woman in this world?

(one of the answer choices) : a conduit of pleasure greatly sought particularly as a result of her own adornment

What does sought mean here?

2) Perhaps this is the main value of a habit of writing, of keeping a journal- that so we rember our best hours and stimulate ourselves

Does the phrase after that express the main value of a habit of writing?

3) The term nest egg in line (x) is a metaphor for:

(one of the answer choices) a thought that will manifest itself as yet another thought

What does as yet mean?

What does sought mean here?
Past participle of seek.  looked for, searched for; desired

Belly
Does the phrase after that express the main value of a habit of writing?
Exactly.

Perhaps this [= (the fact) that so we remember our best hours and ...] is the main value of a habit of writing, of keeping a journal.

What does as yet mean?
"as yet" is not the correct grouping of words in this sentence.

manifest itself as ~ reveal itself to be ~ make itself known to be

yet another ~ still one more ~ even one more
