That's certainly a complex question! But I would have to say NO. I say NO because I believe the potential for abuse (from the governing body, whoever that may be) is tremendous. We're talking about globalism, correct? I'm sorry to say that I have a pretty cynical view of the Powers That Be. I don't see globalism as something beneficial to our world because the governing body could do anything it wanted. And who's to stop them??

Besides, any steps taken in this process are done under devious circumstances (e.g., laws stripping us of our rights-- it's "for our own good," etc.) I think about the people in Germany in 1938 who hadn't the faintest idea (and why should they?) that their democratically-elected official was really a monster. But little by little, his horrific plan was put into place. Until there came a day when it was too late for those trapped in Germany to flee.

Santayana said that those who don't learn by history are doomed to repeat it. Wise man, wise saying.

Just remember that those in power have no interest in doing anything that would benefit the people of the world. And any leader who genuinely had the people's welfare at heart has been "removed." (John F Kennedy, Gandhi, Robert Kennedy, Anwar Sadat, to name a few.)

I'll always be opposed to globalism, regardless of how glowing a light those at the top may try to present it in. Don't let them take you in.

Well, it seems that many are against the One World "Government" (OWG) concept. I kind of liking this concept and have been dreaming about OWG.

In my opinion, with OWG the limited (repeat: limited) resources of this world could be directed to achieve common goal and utilized for the good of the people of the world. Rather than using the resources to destroy each other, cloaked with the narrow minded " National Security" issues and caused by needless mistrust or paranoia. Please note that I emphasized on the term government, which in my concept, the power will not be held by some exclusive peoples (This would be more like One World "Ruling"), instead, it will be a responsibility of some sort of Governing Council, like the perfection of UN system maybe?

Power is tend to corrupt indeed, but it's corrupt because lack of control from the people. Decades ago the concept of OWG will be impossible to apply, now however, with the rapid development of information technology, almost everyone will know what is happening in the world in an instant, the people of the world could use this tremendous advantage to monitor its governing council. Their deeds good or bad will be known and judged by all, thus the consequences of their actions are so very realSmile [:)] vox Populi vox Dei.

I know I make the concept of OWD sounds like an Utopia, but hey, human once also could only dream about going to the moon, so let's keep dreaming - thinking - trying, hopefully someday the dream will come true. Cheers!!!

It sounds nice but only on paper. In reality it will never go as you decribed it. Unfortunaly not. Wish things were different. Ick! [+o(]

Yeah i understand your skepticism regarding this matter dear Molly, and i know it sounds too beautiful to be true. But somehow i really believe that sometime in the future, it will happen. All nations need to work together to cope with this world fast depleting resources. When it comes to the matter of survival, the whole world eventually need to act as one. Maybe it's just my foolish hopeSmile [:)]

As long as there are rednecks on this earth including myself (descendants from the patriots who fought to break away from england) there will never be a one world government!

The time isn't right for One World Government and I'm afraid there will never be a right time for it. (o)

There are so many different people on this planet, I realy don't think it will work. But never the less, you may hope it will happen some day.Smile [:)]
